A Tree of Intricacies

This photo was taken at the Arnold Arboretum in Boston, MA. My friends and I spent an entire day gazing at exotic flora, and our trip ranks as one of the best days of my life. My favorite part of the adventure was lunchtime (partially because I love food, but mostly because of this gorgeously green tree). We laid underneath, studying all of its intricacies. The branches crisscrossed in various ways; they forked into smaller groups and passed by other branches. At that very moment, I was a branch on a tree. A branch that couldn't be happier to have crossed paths with such amazing people.

A City of Passion

This picture was taken while visiting my friend Brunella in Rome two years ago. From its magnificent architecture to its famous artwork, Rome is overflowing with history. With the abundance of man-made marvels, I didn't expect to see such a natural wonder. I remember exclaiming, "This is the most beautiful flower I've ever seen!" It really was. This Passion Flower made me realize that sometimes it's worth an extra moment here or there to appreciate nature. Flowers were around a few millennia before the Romans, after all.

A Beautiful Disaster

I took this photograph at Ka'ena Point in Hawaii several years ago, when my life wasn't exactly going to plan. My father was terminally ill and I was struggling for support while being away at college. I thought I could start my blog with this photo because hardships in life are like waves relentlessly crashing against a shore. After the water calmly recedes, one can only hope to be more prepared for the next surge. Without any of those waves, however, we wouldn't be shaped into the individuals we are today.
